Miss Kelly Ann Arnold has joined the Crescendo Academy Family in the spring of 2017. In May 2016, she graduated from Cabrini College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education. While at Cabrini, Kelly had the opportunity to teach students with a variety of needs and learning styles. She believes that all children are unique. She believes children have a powerful way of affecting their teachers and peers when they share their distinct talents and interests with everyone inside the classroom. Kelly is from Havertown, is a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and belongs to Sacred Heart Parish.
Class Updates & Reminders:
Hello Parents! My name is Kelly Arnold and I will be the PreK 4 teacher. I can not even express how excited I am to work with both you and your child this coming school year. This will be my first full year teaching, however I have been working with both Catholic Community Choir and Crescendo Academy for almost a year now. This year will be filled with fun, laughter, adventures and most importantly learning! In my classroom, your child will be cared for and loved. I will value their ideas, thoughts, and actions. I believe each child is unique and therefore will have unique talents and strengths that they will share with myself and their peers. My wish for this year is to instill a love of learning for each child in my classroom in order to create lifelong learners.
Sincerely, Miss Kelly
What We're Learning This Week:
I have so many fun things planned for this week in our PreK 4 class. Our letter of the week will be "Ff" and we will focus on all different words such as fish, family, feet, food and fire! This weeks theme is Fire Safety and the students will learn what to do in case of an emergency. On Friday, we will be visited by members of the Springfield Fire Department and the students will be able to discuss fire safety rules as well as see a real fire truck up close. Also on Friday, we will celebrate the letter Ff by having Funny Feet Day. The students are encouraged to wear funny socks, shoes, or slippers to school. If your child chooses to wear slippers, please remember to send in a pair of sneakers for your child to wear outside. The students will continue to work on both their fine and gross motor skills through tracing, cutting, coloring, running and playing each and every day! They will also continue to practice their writing skills for both letters and numbers. I will do my best to provide for each student's unique learning styles such as using movement, songs, and hands on learning. On Friday, we will have Show and Tell and the students are encouraged to bring in an object that begins with our letter of the week!
Pizza Party Friday!
